FIRST PERSON/OPINION: Via e-mail: A plaque honoring the late Duke Pennell will be installed at the Daytona 200 monument during Bike Week 2008. The five-time Starter of the Year and Motorcycle Hall of Fame member is pictured flagging Cal Rayborn and is titled “Moment of Victory.” The plaque reads: “With style and class he welcomed each rider as they crossed the finish line. With a flourish and then a final presentation of the checkered flag he gave to them what all racers seek – a moment of victory.” Richard Chambers Potomac, Maryland Race Announcer
