From a press release issued by North Texas Superbikes: Howard blazes on Dunlop D209GP NTEC tires. North Texas Superbikes, Dunlop supported Ty Howard became the official track record holder at this weekend’s inaugural CCS South racing event held at MSR Houston located near Sugarland TX. The previous “unofficial” track record was shattered by over 2.5 seconds during the weekend’s premiere event the Unlimited GP Shootout. Howard grabbed the hole shot and never looked back winning by over 30 seconds, with CCS timing and scoring confirming the new record to be a 1:35.981. This was Howard’s first race weekend on the D209GP Dunlop’s after switching brands at the beginning of the year, and the first time riding in a clockwise direction on the MSR track. “The tires were awesome with drivability better than any tire I have been on. I had no wheel spin at all, none, on my 07′ GSXR750, and the front tire we ran had over 25 laps on it and I was still able to run at lap record pace” stated Howard. “I came away with tons of confidence and a great feeling for the rest of the year.” North Texas Superbikes offers the full line of Dunlop NTEC tires which will be available at all rounds of CCS South and the CMRA racing series. North Texas Superbikes supports all racing and track day riding in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana and may be contacted at 1-866-536-1279.
