From a press release issued by Corona Extra Honda Racing: Los Angeles, California, January 27, 2008: CORONA EXTRA HONDA RACING ANNOUNCES TWO RIDER LINEUP, SUPERBIKE AND SUPERSTOCK CLASSES, FOR 2008 Corona Extra Honda Racing is very pleased to announce rider and team lineup for the 2008 AMA Superbike Series. The big news is participation in SuperStock, a class the Team knows very well with two prior AMA national championships. The expected competitiveness of the new-for-’08 Honda CBR1000RR convinced the team to return to the class. Riding the Corona Extra Honda CBR1000RR SuperBike will be Matt Lynn. Matt, who hails from Georgia, rode the factory MV Augusta in the 2007 AMA Superbike class. In its first year of US competition, Matt took the MV to 6 top-ten finishes and a highest 7th place in this highly competitive field. Joining Matt to race the Corona Honda SuperStock CBR1000RR is former Team Jordan rider Jake Holden. Jake will showcase his talent for racing up front in SuperStock after racking up 6 top ten finishes in 2007 and 4 visits to the podium. Jake’s final ride of the season netted him 1st Place at Laguna Seca, a career-best performance. Both riders are stoked by this opportunity to compete on the all-new liter class Honda with a team celebrating two decades in AMA Pro Racing competition. 2008 will also a see a major expansion in the unique, industry-leading, Corona Extra Honda retail display program. Honda has provided ten more CBR1000RR’s for a total of twenty-five race replicas for retail display use. These are being delivered to Corona Extra distributors throughout the continental United States with at least two bikes for each of nine “regions”. Bikes will truly be seen in every corner of the country!
