(Toronto) An unprecedented display depicting more than 100 years of motorcycle design, development and obsession, is coming to North America’s largest and most comprehensive motorcycle exhibition, SUPERSHOW 2008. Titled ‘A Century of Motorcycles,’ this exhibit is an illustration of the evolution of motorcycles from their invention to the present day. The 2008 North American International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW, presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance, hits the Toronto International Centre, January 4-6th, 2008 and features seven individually-themed halls in 425,000 square feet of exhibit space. “A Century of Motorcycles display is the most comprehensive exhibit of vintage and classic motorcycles put together for a three day event in Canada,” says Bar Hodgson, Show Producer. “Visitors can expect a rare glimpse into the history of motorcycles, presented by the Canadian Motorcycle Heritage Museum and Hall of Fame.” This premier exhibition depicts an historical timeline and features over 50 motorcycles. The oldest bike, a 1908 Indian, is more than 100 years old and is the oldest known Indian motorcycle in Canada. With bikes representing each decade, visitors are sure to get a true sense of the evolution of motorcycling. Some feature bikes include the 1929 Sunbeam 350, a 1939 BMW 750 R12, a 1940 Indian 4 Cylinder, a 1974 Aermachi 350ss, a 1982 Yamaha Seca Turbo and the 2002 MV Agusta Evo2. In a central display presented by the Museum’s ‘Hall of Fame’, visitors can view the ‘Wall of Fame’, sponsored by Suzuki Canada, honouring the new 2007 Inductees. The motorcycles on display are a combination of historical marques from the SUPERSHOW Collection and bikes on loan from private individuals across Canada and the U.S. ‘A Century of Motorcycles’ display is found in the ‘Vintage & Classics’ Hall 4A of the SUPERSHOW, which also features an array of marquee clubs, commercial vendors specializing in vintage motorcycles, special guests and restoration experts. It’s a must-see for any vintage enthusiast. Established in 1976, the SUPERSHOW is North America’s largest consumer motorcycle show.
