The Roadracing World Action Fund nears the end of the year with a grand total of $573,587.45 in donations since the Airfence safety campaign began in 2001.
Recent tragedies fueled donations, with an outpouring of donations in memory of racing young gun Connor La France and in memory of Trackside Racers Supply’s second-generation tire-man Andrew “Skip” Kuykendall.
Donations in Connor LaFrance’s memory from LRRS members include those from: U.S. Marshals of LRRS Racing Community, $1200; Ilya Kriveshko, $1111.11; Eric Wood, $1000; Don Hutchinson, $500; Daniel Murphy, $250; Michael W. Dube, $250; Brian Jeffery, $100; Wade Bartlett, $100; Ed McFarland, $100; Matthew F. Guilbault, $100; John W. John Owens donated $275, the proceeds from sales of portraits taken of LRRS riders in October.
Eric Wood wrote: “This section of Airfence is donated in the memory of Connor LaFrance, a class-act 14-year-old with a great amount of talent and a wonderful, supportive family. I hope that his piece of Airfence can perhaps someday save another family the heartache of losing a child to a piece of unprotected wall.”
Donations received in memory of Andrew “Skip” Kuykendall include those from: Pirelli North America Motorcycle Division, $500; The Delk Family, $500; Team Moto Uno Racing (Mike Belisle, Jason Belisle, Nicky Moore, Craig Hagedorn), $500; Charlie and Cathy van Valkenburgh and the Pit Bull Family, $200; Christian V.
