WSMC – Classic Series It was a nail-biter from start to finish, but Jeremy Toye took the final win of the season in the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club Toyota Cup Unlimited Formula 1 race at Willow Springs International Raceway this weekend. Toye, Karl Lowry (who wrapped up the club’s No. 1 plate this weekend) and Jason Curtis were within a handful of bikelengths throughout the entire 12-lap race, with the trio frequently crossing the start-finish line within a fraction of a second of each other. Lowry on a Graves Yamaha YZF-R1 twice parlayed his speed through Willow’s long Turn Two into a pass on Toye going into the tighter Omega section of the track. But Toye, on his Lee’s Cycle-tuned, Dunlop-shod Suzuki GSX-R1000, had enough in hand to run down Lowry on the back straight and re-take the lead going into the ultra-fast Turn Eight, and held Lowry off on the entire last lap to ensure the win. The margin from Toye back to Curtis, on his No Limit Motorsports Suzuki GSX-R1000, in third at the finish line after 30 miles of racing was 0.6-second. Curtis won the Open Superbike, Open Superstock and Open Modified Production races, setting a new lap record in Open Modified Production. Bradley Adams took his Advanced Kawasaki ZX-6R to wins in the 650cc Superbike, 600cc Modified Production and 600cc Superstock races.
