Suzuki Celebrates Strong Lineup for 2008 Satellite Road Race Teams Geoff May joins Aaron Yates on Jordan Suzuki squad BREA, Calif., (Dec. 13, 2007) American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) is excited to again provide limited factory support to its satellite road race teams for the 2008 season. Leading the charge this year are the Michael Jordan Motorsports Suzuki team, the M4 EMGO Suzuki team and Matsushima Performance Suzuki in AMA road racing, as well as the Vesrah Suzuki team in WERA endurance racing. All of these teams include impressive rosters of new and returning riders for 2008. “The 2008 road race season will be an exciting one for all the Suzuki satellite teams,” said Pat Alexander, ASMC Sports Promotions Manager. “Although we provide support to many road race teams, the Jordan Suzuki, M4 EMGO Suzuki and Matsushima Performance Suzuki teams are some of the more visible in the AMA road race paddock. And the Vesrah Suzuki team continues to impress with its multi-championship-winning performance in endurance racing. We look forward to another successful road race season in 2008.” The Jordan Suzuki team will see former AMA Supersport and Superstock Champion Aaron Yates return to the fold, but this year he is joined by Geoff May. In 2007, Yates finished fourth overall in AMA Superbike and third overall in AMA Superstock, while May finished fourth overall in AMA Superstock. For 2008, the duo will race the Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycles — Yates again in both AMA Superbike and AMA Superstock, and May will focus on AMA Superstock events. The M4 EMGO Suzuki team will include returning rider Martin Cardenas in AMA Supersport and Formula Xtreme. Last year, Cardenas joined the team mid-season and carded three podium finishes in Supersport and one podium finish in Formula Xtreme. Joining Cardenas are newly signed Blake Young, who will race AMA Supersport and AMA Superstock, and Cory West, who will race AMA Supersport only in 2008. All three Matsushima Performance Suzuki riders will race in AMA Supersport and AMA Formula Xtreme this season. Returning rider Danny Eslick, who finished 14th in AMA Superpsort last year, will be joined by newly signed Garrett Carter and Chris Siebenhaar. Finally, rounding out the Suzuki road racing effort, the Vesrah Suzuki team will again compete in the WERA National Endurance Championship Series on Suzuki GSX-R1000 machines after having won an impressive six championships and 58 races. The four-man team includes team owner Mark Junge, as well as Tray Batey, John Jacobi and Chris Ulrich. For more information on all Suzuki’s road race teams, please log onto www.teamsuzuki.com.
