The Championship Cup Series of Florida returns to the Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend for the final race of 2007. Class champions will be decided at this event for 30 of 39 classes, plus the overall expert and amateur championships. In the amateur overall, Juan Hurtado of Coral Springs leads Mark Carbajal of Winter Park by 332 points. Hurtado will claim the win by finishing in the top 20 of each of his races. In the expert overall race for the number 1 plate, Santiago Villa of Sunrise, leads Greg Melka of Tampa by 265 points. However, Villa was seriously injured in a refueling fire while competing at Daytona on October 19th. If Villa is unable to compete, all Melka has to do is finish in the top 10 in the races he has entered to claim the championship. Villa will be in attendance and may attempt to race.
