Four-time FIM 250cc GP World Champion Max Biaggi has signed to race a Ducati 1098 in the 2008 Superbike World Championship for Team Sterilgarda Ducati GMB, according to a posting on the Italian’s website. “It seems [to] me a good opportunity,” Biaggi is quoted as saying in the posting. “The team has guaranteed that we will have high-level technicians. The structure is growing considering that next year we will be two pilots. Unfortunately we won’t be testing at the end of November in Qatar, but we hope to be on track within the first week of December in Vallelunga or Valencia. I am motivated for this new adventure and then…ride a Ducati is always been my dream.” In 2007, Sterilgarda Ducati, which is managed by current Italian Superbike racer Marco Borciani, fielded only Ruben Xaus in the Superbike World Championship. Team Sterilgarda Ducati GMB’s website had no news of Biaggi’s deal at post time, Wednesday.
