2008 Lithium Motorsports Race team Race Team Taking Shape!! With 2007 barely behind us we are already tearing down bikes, moving out the old and preparing the new. Racing has become a year round affair here at Lithium Motorsports. It seems the off season tends to get as busy as our regular mid summer race schedule, only a different kind of busy. Instead of travelling to a race every weekend we are busy travelling around the country, negotiating contracts with our primary team riders as well as associate riders in clubs in regions we normally don’t race in. It is our ultimate goal to have an effective support structure for serious racers nationwide to showcase their talent and of course Lithium Motorsports as well. Our primary team members for 2008 will consist of Team Principal and AMA pro racer Rob Oliva. Rob will once again campaign the AMA Formula Extreme class as well as regional purse paying rounds for Honda and Suzuki contingency. Jason Braun will head up team captain duties, looking after our newer generation of riders. Jason is an accomplished racer in his own right and has been working with Lithium Motorsports for the past two seasons as a sponsored racer. Jason brings his obvious riding talents and his ability to share the knowledge he has gained to assist our team members with reaching their racing goals. Eric Purves has been gaining confidence and speed consistently through his first season of racing and we have taken a special interest in helping him fine tune his abilities. Eric is contracted to ride for Lithium Motorsports in the Novice class unless his four wins in his first weekend as an official Lithium rider have “bumped” him automatically to expert status. Billy Frickson has the determination and heart of a true champion. After closing the application process for team membership for the year we decided to create an opening for Billy after a spirited phone conversation in late October. Billy’s tireless work ethic and devotion to “doing what it takes” will surely provide him great successes working with our coaches during his first expert season. We hope to assist Billy with becoming a front running expert and obtaining his AMA pro license. Associate team members Rodney Lequia and Adam Purves will be campaining Novice machines from the Lithium pit area as well. We are still negotiating final staff positions to our trackside program but 2008 is already gearing up to be our biggest year ever! Check this site often for updates and the latest news from the Lithium racing team.
