Racer Dwaine Williams, 72, of Madison, Florida, the man who founded the original Battle Of The Twins (BOTT) class in AMA Pro Racing, suffered fatal injuries during an AHRMA race at Barber Motorsports Park last Sunday. According to Dwaine Williams’ brother, Roy Williams, “The info I got is rather sketchy, but coming out of a right-hand turn, he went into a wobble and went into a guardrail face-first.” “At this point, all we can say is that the accident took place at a different location on the racing circuit than the other accident (the crash that killed 14-year-old Connor LaFrance last month),” said Clark Virden, an employee with ZOOM Motorsports, which manages racing events at Barber. “It did take place on a straight.” Virden said the track will release more information at a later date. A funeral is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27 at: Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel 301 S. Orange Street Madison, FL 32340 Phone Number: (850) 973-2258 More information will be posted when it becomes available.
