Centurion Racing are delighted to announce the signing of Dennis Hobbs for the Centurion Racing team for the 2008 season in the British Supersport Championship. Dennis will join James ‘Westy’ Westmoreland (2007 British Supersport Cup Winner) and Dan ‘Ferret’ Cooper (2006 British 125 Champion) who already ride for the young Centurion team. Dennis will join Centurion Racing after the final race day of the season at Brands Hatch. We wish Dennis and the team at Padgetts the success they deserve at Brands Hatch this weekend, 12th 14th October. Commentating on the appointment, Paul Rees (General Manager) said: “We have been watching Dennis perform over the past two seasons, and have been very impressed by his professional attitude, race skills, and positive personality. We feel he would fit in well with the ethos and spirit of Centurion Racing. We believe, but for his injury and some bad luck, that Dennis might have won the Championship this season. Dennis’ experience will benefit the whole team, and help Centurion Racing build on what our two brilliant young riders have achieved this year.” Gary Stubbington (Race Manager) added, “having Dennis on board for 2008 will be another positive step in the right direction for Centurion Racing, prove our long term commitment to the sport, and continue to raise the team’s profile both on and off the track. The team is now looking forward to testing in the winter months in readiness for the ’08 season.” Centurion Racing first ventured into the race circuit in 2005. Since then the team has achieved extraordinary success, winning the British Supersport Cup in 2006 and 2007, including all Cup races in the 2006 season. The two new guns, Westy (2007 Supersport Cup Champion) and Dan had their first taste this season on the Honda 600’s in their first season in the British Supersport Championship, and acquired valuable results and points throughout. All three riders will now ride in the Supersport Championship next year. *Brands Hatch: The team will also be running a third rider at the last race at Brands Hatch this coming weekend. The third rider for the final round will be Luke Jones (125 British Champion 07), riding Centurions’ 06 Honda. This is a one off courtesy ride for Luke. The Centurion team would also like to thank all their sponsors, supporters and friends for their continued support throughout this season, and look forward to meeting new supporters, new friends and new sponsors for 2008.
