AMA Road Race Series Manager Morgan Broadhead’s closed head injury is more serious than a concussion and he may be kept in an induced coma for two or three more weeks while his injured brain heals. That’s the word from people close to Broadhead, who is in a Florida hospital due to closed head injuries suffered in a crash during a WERA/AMA National Challenge Series and National Endurance Series event at Jennings GP a week ago. Broadhead highsided during a qualifying session and came down on his head. Doctors have detected bleeding in his brain and have installed a drain to reduce pressure caused by the bleeding; excessive pressure can cause damage in addition to the original, impact-caused injury. Until the pressure stabilizes, Broadhead will be kept under. More information will be posted when it becomes available.
