Miguel Duhamel has officially re-signed with American Honda to race the new CBR1000RR in the 2008 AMA Superbike Championship. “Everything’s done with Honda,” Duhamel told Roadracingworld.com in a telephone interview. “We’re part of the team, me and Neil [Hodgson]. I’m looking forward to getting out there with the new bike. It’s going to be really exciting.” Duhamel will continue working with long-time Crew Chief Al Ludington, and he will make another attempt at winning a record sixth Daytona 200. “Obviously, we’d really like to win six, myself personally and of course Honda,” said Duhamel. “Hopefully, this year we’ll have all the right ingredients together to bring that home.” Duhamel is currently living at his condominium in Montreal, Canada while he recovers from internal injuries and bone fractures he received in a horrific crash into a wall at Road Atlanta while testing August 8. “Everything’s going fine,” said Duhamel, who had surgery at the hands of noted orthopedic surgeon Dr. Arthur Ting to remove three bone chips from his fractured right ankle. Duhamel also broke three ribs, bruised and punctured both lungs, lacerated his liver and suffered lesser injuries to both legs. “I’m just doing a little bit of physical therapy on the ankle right now, nothing too strenuous. I’m just waiting on the ankle. Everything feels fine. As far as the internal things go, I’m just listening to the doctors and doing whatever they say. I feel fine.” Duhamel said he expects to healthy and fit in time for Dunlop’s winter tire test at Daytona. Duhamel then said he wanted to send a get well wish to AMA Pro Racing Road Race Series Manager Morgan Broadhead, who suffered a serious head injury when he crashed September 28 while riding in a WERA/AMA event at Jennings GP in Florida.
