NASCAR veteran Aaron Brown of Catawba, NC has signed DeJarnette Research Systems as a major sponsor for the 2008 season. Brown, who has been part of five Daytona 500 winning teams, currently consults for Craftsman truck and Busch car teams while maintaining AB-1 Motorsports, a motorcycle road race team running in the WERA race series out of his North Carolina race shop. The team’s new sponsor DeJarnette Research Systems is a 20 year old private medical imaging software company that is known for its performance workflow solutions and endless innovation. Dr. Wayne DeJarnette who is president and CEO is also a sponsor of the Johns Hopkins Lacrosse team. The partnership includes a cooperative marketing agreement with Lynch Motorsports, a Craftsman Truck team and the Dodge Motorsports land speed record attempt which Brown has been contracted to build and crew chief. The land speed record attempt will be run on the Bonneville Salt Flats mid October 2007 and driven by world speed record holder Russ Wicks. According to Brown, “This sponsorship is the coordination of multiple race disciplines designed to provide maximum value and increased exposure for our sponsor. I believe this is the first time this type of package has been done with a motorcycle team and we’re confident that more outside industry sponsors would see value in our unique marketing packages.” AB-1 Motorsports will field a two-bike support program for up-and-coming 16-year-old WERA racer James Rispoli in 2008.
