Odenton, MD. This coming weekend at Mid-Ohio, the USGPRU’s Apex Academy and Red Bull will be awarding 5 lucky winners with a free day of on- and off-track instruction at a Penguin Race School later this year. The USGPRU’s Apex Academy is an effort to help develop the race craft of the GP racers in North America. By creating an environment that teaches new skills and then provides a competitive environment to exercise those skills, we aim to help shorten the learning curve of younger racers and improve on the already strong talent pool of veteran racers. Red Bull has stepped up again to help us make this goal a reality. Earlier this year they arranged for the Bostrom brothers to come out to Portland to help teach the racers, and now they have helped arrange this opportunity to get some track time with the Penguin Race School. The Penguin Roadracing School, now in its 34th year, is The Oldest Motorcycle Roadracing School in the Country. They are dedicated to helping the new rider learn the basic skills necessary for a successful racing career, as well as tutoring the experienced racer who needs the competitive edge to get to the front of the pack. They also welcome the street riding enthusiast who would like to improve their everyday riding skills and experience the race track in a non-racing environment.
