Aaron Clark Dominates Weekend to Win Utah Region #1 Plate Motosix rider Aaron Clark secured his second consecutive number one plate in the Master’s of the Mountains series run at Miller Motorsports Park this past weekend with a dominating win in the King of the Mountain class. With temperatures in the low 80s both days under hazy skies, the track offered little traction for much of the morning races. By mid afternoon the sun burned through the cloud cover to elevate the track temperature enough to give Aaron Clark a good shot at claiming the Miller Motorsports Park West track record. With the cool dense air, a warm track, and a new sticky set of Pirelli tires, Aaron did his best to disappear from the pack at the start of the King of the Mountain race. By lap three of the fourteen lap event, it was clear that the rest of the field would be battling for second place as Clarkie stretched out his lead with each corner. “I was really going for it those first few laps and thought I had a great shot at the track record. Unfortunately, my lap timer was not working so I had no idea how close to the record I was. If I had only known I was within a few tenths of the record I know I could have lowered it because the bike was absolutely awesome today” commented Clarkie. “Overall though, I am very pleased and excited about how things went. I was behind in points due to an event conflict late in the season, but with today”s win and few fast guys between me and the points leader, I was able to bring home the number one plate again in 2007 in this region.” On his second race ever on a 1000cc motorcycle, Dave Gallant of MotoSix Motorsports brought home his Suzuki GSXR 1000 to a strong 5th place finish in King of the Mountain. “After riding 600s and SV650s for so many years, getting on a motorcycle as fast as a Clarkie Motoworks Suzuki GSXR 1000 is a real eye opening experience! My first ride on this bike was last weekend at Pueblo, and somehow we put the bike on the podium in Open Supersport in my first race ever on it. This weekend the bike is feeling even better, however it was a hard fight to get up to this 5th place finish. I was dead last going into turn one at the start, so coming from last to 5th in this unlimited class makes me feel good about the potential of this bike and what next season will bring” commented MotoSix rider Dave Gallant. MotoSix riders Aaron Clark and David Gallant will compete next at the final MRA round at Pueblo Motorsports Park on September 22nd and 23rd.
