Rosamond, CA – Former AMA & WSMC top racer Vincent Haskovec, who still holds the fastest lap record for any Toyota 200 with a 01:21.089 in 2003, has been named Grand Marshal of the 2007 Toyota 200 festivities. The high-spirited Czech native was seriously injured in an incident at Infineon Raceway in 2005. Since then he has spend much of his time recuperating and going through extensive physical therapy at the Neuro Institute in Tempe, Arizona. A regular on the AMA circuit and a frequent WSMC racer prior to his accident, Haskovec will be fielding a team of four European racers at the Toyota 200 this year. The team looks forward to making this an annual event. “We’re excited to have Vincent honor us with his presence,” said Willow Springs General Manager Stephanie Huth. “His great spirit and unwavering positive attitude is an inspiration to all who know him.” Tickets for the four day Toyota 200 are available now through September 8th for a discounted price of just $25/person. This price includes free parking, pit pass and camping privileges for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 13th through September 16th. Children 8 and under are admitted free with paid adult. Tickets purchased after 5pm on September 8th are $30/person. Call (661) 256-6666 to order by phone or visit the track office in Rosamond during regular track hours.
