Updated: Parriott To Ride Factory BMW In Bol d’Or 24-Hour

San Jose BMW’s Brian Parriott will ride a works BMW Twin in the Bol d’Or 24-Hour at Magny Cours in mid-September. Parriott is a confirmed primary rider for the team, not a reserve rider. He leaves for Europe next Tuesday. More details to follow. Update: Parriott will be teamed with Markus Barth and Jose Luis Nion on one bike, while Thomas Hinterreiter, Rico Penzkofer and Richard Cooper will share a second BMW R 1200 S. Dario Guiseppetti will serve as the reserve rider for both teams. Parriott plans to record his experience in a web log, or “blog,” on his website www.bp46.com. Free practice starts Wednesday, September 12, more free practice and timed qualifying take place Thursday and Friday, September 13-14, the race starts Saturday, September 15 at 3:00 p.m. (local time) and ends Sunday, September 16 at 3;00 p.m. (local time).
