Motorcycling Australia has named three riders to be granted Wildcard entry into the 2007 Australian 125cc MotoGP to be held at Phillip Island. Blake Leigh-Smith, Glenn Scott and Rhys Moller, pending FIM final approval, have all been given the green light from MA to appear at the event, which will take place from October 12-14. Both Moller and Leigh-Smith were lucky enough to earn Wildcard entries into the 2006 event, with Leigh-Smith managing to score a factory ride at several international races following on from the event. Scott succeeded in taking out the 125cc class at the Australian Superbike Championship last weekend, finishing more than 50 points clear of his nearest rival in second while Leigh-Smith finished ninth and Moller managed to come in 13th place overall.
