Alton, Virginia (August 17, 2007) – Jim Neese, 2007 AMA Toyota Arenacross Lites East Champion and owner of the Carolina Xpress and Jim Neese Rider Development took to the pavement on a Suzuki GSX-R600 at the Racing 2 Save Lives track event held at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, Virginia. He was instructed by Team Pro-Motion and used one of their training bikes. Jim was at the VIRginia International Raceway to prepare for his autograph sessions this upcoming weekend at the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals. After a few laps of adjusting to the different handling characteristics of a street bike, Jim was putting in some pretty quick laps and laying the Suzuki GSX-R600 over in the turns. The Racing 2 Save Lives event was taking place on the South Course of VIR, while the Suzuki Big Kahuna practice was taking place on the North Course. “I have wanted to try my hand at riding a road bike and the guys at Team Pro-Motion were nice enough to offer me a bike and some lessons while I was at VIR. I really enjoyed my time on the track, what an amazing experience. Team Pro-Motion has an excellent program called ART that got me up to speed quickly. Even though I race professional motocross, I have no road race experience at all. Team Pro-Motion walked me through the training and within a few sessions I was feeling very comfortable on the bike, commented Jim Neese. Jim added, “I am glad to be part of the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals event. I have one my bikes on display at the Suzuki tent and will be signing autographs throughout the weekend. I heard that this is one of the best Superbike events of the series. VIRginia International Raceway is an amazing facility; I can see why this event is so popular.” Jim also raced in the Third Annual Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals Superstars Kart Enduro Challenge where he moved from the back of the pack to take third place in his heat race. The Kart Enduro Challenge pits teams comprised of a fan, a professional rider, a media member and a staff member from VIR, AMA, M1 Entertainment, or a sponsor, in a challenge on VIR’s 5/8-mile Plantation Valley Kart Track. “The Kart Challenge was a blast, racing karts with guys like the Bostrom Brothers, Chaz Davies and Aaron Yates was cool. Yates and I used to race against each other in motocross when we were kids.” Jim Neese Rider Development is a training school for motocross racers and off-road riders aiming to tap their potential (www.jimneese.com).
