Yoshimura Suzuki’s Ben Spies, Mat Mladin and Tommy Hayden spent today testing new racing rain tires at a Dunlop facility near Huntsville, Alabama. “We were at Dunlop in Alabama,” Spies told Roadracingworld.com Thursday. “I got about 70 laps in the rain, so that was pretty decent, well, in the sprinkler rain. I wish they would’ve kept the sprinklers on to cool me down. [laughs] It was good. We got to try some set-up stuff and some mapping stuff.” Spies rode his Superbike at the test, which was held on a proving ground course and not a dedicated racetrack. He was joined by his teammates Mat Mladin and Tommy Hayden. No other teams attended the test.
