The AMA Superbike race at Mid-Ohio was stopped on lap 13 of a scheduled 26 for a crash involving Millennium KWS Suzuki’s David Weber. Weber highsided at the exit of the Keyhole, crawled off the racing surface and needed medical attention in an impact zone of the racetrack. Weber crashed in exactly the same way in exactly the same spot Friday and was riding in the race with a suspected broken right foot. At the time the race was stopped, Yoshimura Suzuki’s Ben Spies was leading by 6.5 seconds over Mat Mladin, who got another less-than-perfect launch and had to work his way past several other riders in the opening laps. Yamaha’s Eric Bostrom had just pulled clear in third place, while American Honda’s Miguel Duhamel and Jordan Suzuki’s Aaron Yates continued to dispute fourth. Jake Zemke, Roger Hayden, Jason DiSalvo, Matt Lynn and James Ellison filled the rest of the top-10 spots at the red flag. During the race, Jamie Hacking, Ben Thompson and Scott Jensen had also crashed. Jensen crashed on the same lap the red flag came out. The race will be restarted for 12 laps.
