(July 18, 2007) American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) will showcase two new 2008 motorcycles “” the Suzuki Hayabusa and B-King “” at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif., July 20-22. This will be the first public showing of the recently announced high-performance bikes. “Tens of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts attend this race every year, and Suzuki wanted to take this opportunity to give fans a first-time, up-close and personal look at the Hayabusa and B-King,” said Glenn Hansen, communications manager, ASMC, motorcycle/ATV division. “Both motorcycles have been highly anticipated by media and motorcycle enthusiasts alike, and this is the perfect opportunity to showcase Suzuki’s new flagship models.” The Hayabusa and B-King will be on display at the Suzuki booth, along with other 2008 models. Also at the booth, consumers can pick up a free special booklet, produced by Motorcyclist magazine, on the history of the Hayabusa and development of the new Hayabusa. Plus, Team Suzuki racers will be signing autographs. About the Hayabusa Suzuki’s world-renowned Hayabusa sportbike is new for 2008 with an aggressive and aerodynamic package with smoother bodywork and better air flow which still retains the signature Hayabusa character. The Hayabusa boasts updated features, such as optimum handling and braking performance, outstanding acceleration and new engine technology. It has a more muscular four-cylinder 1,340cc engine, a broader wave of torque for even more effortless acceleration and 12 percent more horsepower. The Hayabusa also features reduced emissions while still maintaining maximum overall performance. It’s the ultimate sportbike for the road. About the B-King First introduced as a Tokyo Motor Show-stopper in 2001, the B-King is a bold new machine that’s gone from concept model to production reality. The B-King takes new-millennium styling and design to the outer edges with its unique look and feel. But, the B-King isn’t just about style, it also has plenty of substance with a 1,340cc, four-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC fuel-injected engine taken from the new Hayabusa. It features superb handling and control, muscular torque and exhilarating throttle response, all wrapped in an advanced aluminum-alloy frame fitted with high-quality fully adjustable front and rear suspension and front disc brakes featuring radial-mount four-piston calipers. It’s the ultimate streetbike.
