AARON YATES RIDES FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION EVENT Rider to Participate in 27th Annual New England Classic Charity Trail Ride Aurora, IL Michael Jordan Motorsports Suzuki road racer Aaron Yates will trade his Suzuki GSX-R1000 Superbike for a Suzuki DZ-400 to participate in the 27th Annual New England Classic Charity Trail Ride, June 9th and 10th in Loudon, New Hampshire. The event, which is organized by The Merrimack Valley Trail Riders (MVTR), raised $152,000 for Cystic Fibrosis research in 2006. The Classic continues to be the top national charitable fundraising trail ride, according to the AMA. Each day of the two day, 200-mile ride will start and finish at the New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, NH. Yates previously enjoyed success at the Speedway, taking his Suzuki 600 Supersport to the checkered flag win in 2000, and winning the AMA Superbike race in 1998. The dual sport portion of the New England Classic event consists of a 120 mile trail ride on Saturday, with an additional 100 mile ride on Sunday. Riders can also participate in hero sections along the trail. Saturday’s ride includes a barbecue lunch at the halfway point and a rider’s banquet at the end of the trail. The Classic also includes the Big Bike Rally, a Sunday only event suitable for Suzuki V-Strom’s, and other big bikes with plenty of dirt road mileage to enjoy as well as a Kids’ Ride, open to riders ages 12-16. “I’m really looking forward to the event,” said Aaron. “I like hanging out after a day of trail riding. The banquets are fun and it should be a good time!” Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that afflicts the digestive and respiratory system. There is no cure. The necessary funds to battle this devastating disease are raised through special events like the Classic. Over the past 26 years, the Classic has raised $1,250,000 for CF research and has made a lasting impact in the quest for a cure, giving the children and adults with CF the quality of life and future they deserve.
