Update: Wet AMA Superbike Race Stopped At Road America Due To Lightning

Sunday’s AMA Superbike race at rainy Road America was stopped on lap two of 16 for lightning around the circuit. At the time the race was stopped Yoshimura Suzuki’s Ben Spies was leading American Honda’s Miguel Duhamel. Spies’ teammate Tommy Hayden was third ahead of Jordan Suzuki’s Aaron Yates and Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jamie Hacking. Matt Lynn was sixth on his Fast By Ferracci MV Agusta F4-1000R 312, ahead of Championship leader Mat Mladin, after one lap. The race will be restarted from the original grid, a complete restart for 16 laps. Stay tuned. Update: The weather is clearing at Road America, and the Superbike race will be restarted for 16 laps at approximately 4:00 p.m. local time.
