Bettencourts Yamaha’s Jeff Wood and Deeley Harley-Davidson/Buell’s Dave Estok won the ASRA National Championship races Memorial Day Monday at Summit Point Raceway, in Summit Point, West Virginia. Wood fought off challenges from Butler Machinery’s Robert Jensen to win the Factory Pro Sportbike, Superbike and Superstock races on his Dunlop-shod Yamahas. The wins extended Wood’s Championship point leads in each of the classes. Estok rode his Pirelli-equipped Buell XB-9R to win a flag-to-flag duel over Hal’s Performance Advantage Buell’s Dan Bilansky by 0.211 second in the Thunderbike final. Thunderbike pole-sitter Bryan Bemisderfer was forced to sit out the Thunderbike race when his Harley-Davidson/Buell of Frederick XB-12R developed engine problems during Monday morning practice.
