Hamilton, ON Turn 2 Sportbike Rentals Inc., Canada’s sole supplier of track-prepped sport motorcycles, has expanded its rider training programs to include the new Advanced Riding Course. The Advanced Riding Course (ARC), was introduced to instil new and established riders with more confidence and control on the street and track. New riders will discover how easy sportbikes are to ride, and safely explore limits not attainable on the street. Riders will achieve a better overall understanding of motorcycle dynamics, which in turn will sharpen their skills and increase awareness and confidence in the real world. Riders with a few years of experience under their belt may want to take their current skills to the next level and learn to drag their knee while safely improving their ability at higher speeds on the track with proper guidance. “Even if a rider has many years of street riding experience, our course will help them better understand today’s sportbike” said Turn 2 owner, George Budacki. “We will help them break old bad habits and hopefully help them learn a few good ones.” With a background in motorcycle racing himself, Budacki has managed a successful race team since 2005. The most recent 2006 team featured Ontario-based racers Ross Millson and Paul Glenn, and B.C. rider Misti Hurst. Budacki will be taking a break from racing in ’07 to focus on the launch of the Advanced Riding Course and continuing with the established Rider Development Program for people craving more personal one-on-one attention. “Working with Ross, Paul and Misti last year was an amazing experience.” said Budacki. “Paul and Ross have started their own team this year, and when their schedule permits will be instructing at ARC along with a few other very notable ex-racers. As the goal of ARC is to develop riders “¦who knows, maybe we’ll discover the next up and coming superstar and race again in 2008.” he added. For 2007, Turn 2 has joined forces with Suzuki Canada to offer the 2007 GSXR600 and 2007 SV650S as the official motorcycles of Turn 2’s Advanced Riding Course and Sportbike Rental Program. Turn 2 has also teamed up with Motovan Corporation for a complete line of safety equipment including Zox helmets, Teknic leathers and Knox back protectors. Turn 2 will be holding ARC Level 1 dates at Mosport International Raceway (Development Track), Atlantic Motorsport Park as well as Toronto Motorsports Park. Finalized ARC dates are posted on the newly launched Turn 2 website: www.turn2.ca, with the majority of the dates falling on weekends.
