Racing Performance Services no longer offers suspension services to the public

Effectively immediately, Racing Performance Services is closed to the public for all suspension services. “This is a very difficult decision, but an obvious and necessary one,” said RPS owner and Liberty Motorsports Park President Marcus McBain. “Since 2001, I have built up businesses in the road racing markets and through growth and success seen it necessary to move on to the next level. The imminent ground breaking for Liberty Motorsports Park requires that I dedicate all my time and energy available to the project. I have been privileged to introduce or dramatically improve several business models in the Texas marketplace over the past five and a half years that the regional community has benefited from. Liberty Motorsports Park is the next such venture. It is required that I be involved in every facet of the development to ensure the model is adhered to. I will miss the great experiences my customers have provided for me.”

RPS will continue to run the Repsol-Komodo sprint and RPS-Komodo endurance teams. As part of its Repsol Agreement, RPS will continue to provide contingency support for the CMRA and continue to provide exclusive marketing of Repsol Product at Lone Star Track Days.

RPS will additionally continue to honor support of customers that purchased suspension upgrades or services with 1 year of support from the date of sale from Racing Performance Services. For customers that are seeking premium quality suspension services, the RPS website lists several highly recommended suspension professionals including Max McAlister, Jim Cambora, Dan Kyle, and Dave Hodges that the company has witnessed great work from.

McBain also mentioned, “I want to thank Max McAlister especially. When I started this business, there is no way that I would have been successful without his products and help. Although I did eventually move on to develop my own products and not carry Traxxion components, I was glad that Max and I were still able to talk over the phone and keep a professional relationship. Max has started off a lot of guys in the suspension business, and I definitely don’t want to be a guy that forgets who helped him to get started in the suspension marketplace.”

From 2003 though 2006, RPS customers and sponsored riders captured 5 AMA ProRacing top-10 finishes, a dozen National Championships, 100 regional championships, and over 700 races. The technical articles provided on the company’s website are viewed throughout the world. In 2004, Racing Performance Services was the #1 dealer in the United States for Traxxion Dynamics Products. In 2006, the company began to really expand its success. This included working with Cory Bureleson to capture the AMA Horizon Award and 3 National Championships as well as Dane Westby who captured the Suzuki SV650 Cup National Championship.

Racing Performance Services will continue on as a private company and do promotional events for Repsol, Komodo, Vortex, Lone Star Track Days, Bridgestone, South Central Race Center and other business partners. RPS will remain a sovereign business entity after this season to run the Liberty Motorsports Park sponsored racing team in 2008. The team is scheduled to participate in AMA ProRacing. Danny Kelsey will be the featured rider for that team.
