Marco Borciani won the Italian National Superbike race at Monza Sunday, riding his Pirelli-shod Ducati to a 4.323-second margin of victory over MV Agusta-mounted Ayrton Badovini. FIM Latin American Superbike Champion and FMV Venezuelan Superbike Champion Robertino Pietri, an AMA Superstock regular, DNF with an electronic problem while running ninth in his Monza debut, completing just five of 12 scheduled laps.
