Devon Motorcycles, Jincheng Corporation Receive Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Scooter Model King of Prussia, PA – Devon Motorcycles, Inc., the registered Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) agent for the Jincheng Corporation, China’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles, today announced that it has received EPA certification on its JC50QT scooter model. Jincheng Corporation is one of over 200 subsidiaries of the Jincheng Group, which ranks in the Fortune 50 of Chinese companies. According to the Motorcycle Industry Council, over 100,000 scooters were sold in the United States in 2006. Analysts have listed urban areas and college and university campuses as the greatest potential growth spots, as two-wheel vehicles are becoming practical alternative modes of transportation. Sales are projected to continue their growth due to the precipitous rise in gas prices. “It is no secret that scooters are gaining significant momentum in the United States, and this EPA certification will help Devon Motorcycles and Jincheng continue our momentum in this country as well,” says Ruth Wu, vice president of operations for Devon Motorcycles. “This outstanding news speaks to the growth of Devon Motorcycles, and to the progression of our relationship with Jincheng. We look forward to expanding our product line to offer dealers and powersports enthusiasts more affordable and durable bikes and scooters.” The 50cc scooter was unveiled at the 39th Annual Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo® in February, and received excellent feedback. The scooter features a sleek retro design popular in the United States and Europe. It is available in red, royal blue, orange, pistachio, and a two-tone model with silver blue and white. Devon Motorcycles exclusively distributes Jincheng bike and scooter models in the United States. Jincheng has led China’s motorcycle industry in exports and foreign exchange income for nine consecutive years. In 2005, the company exported more than 500,000 bikes to 40 countries, and produced annual revenues over $250 million. Jincheng has been recognized by China’s State Administration for Industry and Commerce as “the country’s leading brand.” Devon Motorcycles and Jincheng have various bike and scooter models in testing stages.
