AMA Pro Racing’s electronic timing & scoring system shut down during the first practice session for the AMA Supersport class Wednesday morning at Daytona International Speedway. Over one hour after the Supersport practice session had ended lap times were still not available to riders or members of the media. As the fourth practice session of the day, Formula Xtreme, took to the track Wednesday morning, no printed practice results for any session have been made available in the media center. Results from Wednesday morning’s practices were also not available on the official AMA website. AMA Pro Racing’s electronic timing & scoring system came back up in the middle of the first Superbike practice and continues to operate as the first Formula Xtreme practice takes to the track. AMA Racing Vice President Ken Rogers, who previously served as AMA Pro Racing Director of Timing and Scoring, resigned from the organization about two weeks ago. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Roger Hayden and Jamie Hacking were leading Wednesday morning Supersport practice when the timing & scoring system shut down. Update: At 11:43 a.m. local time practice results began to appear on AMA Pro Racing’s official website.
