Californian Steve Bonsey, the teenage dirt tracker whose road racing experience consisted of only a few weekends as a WERA Novice on an SV650 before he landed a factory KTM ride for the 2007 125cc World Championship Series, was 29th-fastest in testing at Jerez Wednesday. Mattia Pasini was fastest at the test, turning a 1:47.727 on an Aprilia. The fastest KTM man was Tomoyoshi Koyama, fifth at 1:48.175. Bonsey’s best lap was a 1:51.897. The slowest man at the test was Roberto Tamburini, 31st-fastest on an Aprilia at 1:52.682.
