Moore in Europe! Nicky Moore traveled to Valencia on February 5th to ride with Team Pedercini aboard the Ducati 1098, for some pre-season testing. Moore will be racing the 1098 in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup and the Italian Cup Championship for the 2007 season for the Italian based Team Pedercini. Nicky said, “It was a little challenging learning the track and figuring out the bike the first day since it was cold and rainy, but by the second day I was beginning to get settled in on the Ducati”. Nicky has previously raced AMA Formula Xtreme and Super Sport classes on a Yamaha R6, so needless to say the Ducati 1098 is an entirely different machine. “I was able to get more acquainted with the team and the bike by the time we got to Cartagena and I was running some really competitive lap times. My team is great and we seem to be on the same page when it comes to setting up the bike, which always makes it easier to just go out and ride” says Moore. Nicky will be flying back to Italy on the 13th of March for one more test prior to the first race of the season April 1st at Donington Park. “Having the opportunity to race at this level with a team of this caliber has been a goal of mine for a long time,” says Nicky. “After a tough 2006 I am coming back stronger and more determined in 2007. We are definitely looking for some top five finishes and ideally I want to be on the podium.” Nicky will spend the majority of the year in Italy , but will be in America for a few select special events to promote the team and his current sponsors. Since Nicky is the only American racer in this series he will provide a tremendous amount of exposure for any current and future sponsors.
