SunTrust MOTO-ST Series to be Sanctioned by PMP DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 7, 2007) Officials of the new SunTrust MOTO-ST Series and Professional Motorsports Productions (PMP) of Canada jointly announced today that PMP will sanction all SunTrust MOTO-ST races commencing with the season-opening 500K event at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) next month. Contrary to prior announcements that the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) was to sanction MOTO-ST, PMP which owns and operates the Parts Canada Superbike Championship will now serve as the governing body after helping to organize and operate motorcycle racing’s newest series since its introduction early last year. Officials from both PMP and Grand-Am, which provides the series with administrative and commercial support, were instrumental in the successful debut event of the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series, the 8 Hours At Daytona, which was held on the traditional road course at DIS this past October. The 2007 season-opener will be the kick-off event of Daytona 200 Week by Honda and will be run March 3-4. The Daytona event is the first of six races currently on the SunTrust MOTO-ST schedule with other stops at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Virginia International Speedway, Iowa Speedway and Road America before the season-ending 8 Hours At Daytona back at DIS on October 19-20, 2007. MOTO-ST is organized and sanctioned by Professional Motorsports Productions (PMP) of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and the Grand American Road Racing Association, based in Daytona Beach, Fla., provides the series with administrative and commercial support. The MOTO-ST advisory board features some of the most respected individuals in the world of motorsports, including AMA Hall of Fame members, respected motorcycle racing journalists and renowned officials from various forms of road racing.
