ROCKET BUSTS COUNTERFEITERS AGAIN! January 12, 2007 Randy Robison, President of Robison’s Inc., has again made a preemptive strike against counterfeiters stealing its JOE ROCKET® brand name in a bold attempt to sell falsely identified leather jackets. U.S. Customs and Border Protection have seized a shipment of goods which bear marks which constitute counterfeit copies of the Joe Rocket® trademark. Mr. Robison promptly assigned Monte L. Falcoff, a Patent and Trademark lawyer with the “Harness Dickey” firm, the task of working in co-ordinance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection to bring justice to the accused counterfeiters. A U.S. Customs agent who wears JOE ROCKET® apparel while riding his own motorcycle was overseeing the Port of Entry at Birmingham, Alabama. The agent had seen an unusual shipment of “leather motorcycle jackets” bearing the JOE ROCKET® markings entering the U.S. from Pakistan. Immediately the officer phoned the Robison’s Inc. office to learn that his suspicions were well founded. JOE ROCKET® products are not produced in Pakistan and therefore such a shipment should be considered completely bogus. Acting accordingly, U.S. Customs has seized the shipment of counterfeit property. “We have invested years of experience developing the JOE ROCKET® brand into the market leader it is today. Our brand is our livelihood and there is no way I will allow it to be stolen, misused and outright desecrated like this,” Mr. Robison said “Perhaps the scariest thing is that persons may be led to believe that they are purchasing a genuine piece of JOE ROCKET® apparel equipped with the many safety features that our technology affords. It is my understanding that this counterfeit junk is devoid of most of our safety features thereby making it a liability to our reputation for excellence,” he went on to say. The seizure occurred on November 1 in Birmingham, Alabama. While no legitimate retail stores have been found selling fake JOE ROCKET® product, “Harness Dickey,” a law firm specializing in Patent and Trademark proceedings, will continue to scan online retailers, intent on crippling any and all who would attempt to sell such counterfeit JOE ROCKET® products. Ever protective of legal and legitimate trade practices, U.S. Customs and Border Protection remain persistent in their detailed importation inspection to thwart counterfeiters and to see that justice is served. “I want to thank this Customs Agent for acting expeditiously, ultimately stopping these counterfeiters in their tracks. The fact that he is a fan and loyal customer of JOE ROCKET® warms my heart to no end. I am wholeheartedly grateful for his expertise. I want our fine JOE ROCKET® customers and our dealer network to know that we will not allow our brand name to be compromised whatsoever,” Mr. Robison said. Robison’s Inc. is the exclusive source of JOE ROCKET® products and it continues to develop, design, build, race, and sell the finest motorcycle apparel products in the world.
