McDonald, son of former 250cc AMA National Champion Sam McDonald, will compete primarily in the AMA Supersport division on a Yamaha YZF-R6, but will also see action in select Formula Xtreme events, including the season opener at Daytona. The team will be managed by O’Donnell, with crew chief Sam McDonald, and crew members Mike Toole, Cody Frost, Darryl Hurst and Norm McDonald, rounding out the personnel. Tyler’s first outing with the new team will be at Daytona International Speedway for the 66th running of the annual Daytona classic.
