The season finale of Roadrace Southwest/CCS is going to have some serious talent competing for DOUBLE purse in Unlimited Grand Prix on the “Main” track at Firebird International Raceway on the December 2nd and 3rd. Mark Ledesma, AMA Superbike racer and current track record holder along with Scott Jensen (AMA racer also featured on Speed’s “Superbikes”), will have their hands full with a gentleman by the name of DOUG POLEN…Yes…The former AMA Superbike and World Superbike Champion! Pro Racer Johnny Rock Page has hired Polen to coach him in preparation for the 2007 season. Polen will also be racing the remainder of the weekend with CCS-SW. Come see a living legend! The combination of increased purse and racing on Firebird Main has also attracted the likes of other AMA Pros and local hotshots such as, Joe Dawson, Jon Blaylock, Kane Lasky, Rory Palmer, and Ivan Garza. There is also rumor the 2005 CCS/SW number one plate holder Bryan Land is going to overcome injury and put together a bike to compete. Other notable experts scheduled to appear include Lenny Beckman, AJ Amman, and local internet villain Davie Stone! The Amateur Class is stocked with racers who will give several of the experts a run for their money…this is the last time you can see Ray Thibedeau and Patrick Bertinelli battle before the move up to the expert ranks. Also for you Vintage Motorcycle enthusiasts, go back in time with racers competing on equipment from the 60’s, 70’s, and more! Come see BMW, BSA, Triumph, and the “Big Four’ battle with drum brakes, spindly forks and skinny tires! It does not matter if you are a racer or just a fan…This will be the best racing the southwest will have seen since the AMA was last here. Tickets with free pit pass included available at the gate for both Saturday and Sunday!
