Tickets Still Remain for Spaghetti Feed and Auction SONOMA, Calif. “” A limited number of spots still remain for the benefit for injured AMA rider Vincent Haskovec at Infineon Raceway on Tuesday, Nov. 7. The fund-raiser is being hosted by 3J’s Motorcycle Track Days. The motorcycle track day, which will feature a full day of riding on the raceway’s twisting road course, has been expanded to 150 slots to accommodate the enormous interest. Event officials originally wanted 100 riders. “The interest for this benefit for Vincent has been tremendous, which is why we have added some slots,” said Jere Starks, vice president of facilities at Infineon Raceway, who created 3J’s Motorcycle Track Days in 2003 with friends Jim Randolph and Jay Brosius. “It’s going to be a great day.” Among the riders scheduled to participate is six-time AMA Superbike champion Mat Mladin (Suzuki), who will donate his GSX-R750 to be raffled off during the day. Mladin is purchasing the motorcycle specifically for the track day, so the raffle winner will essentially win a new Suzuki. Cost for the track day is $290 and you can register by calling Jenah Smith at 707-933-3990. Tickets still remain for the second function of the day, a Spaghetti Feed and Auction, which will also be held at the raceway. A reception will be held at 5:30 p.m., with dinner set for 6:30 p.m. It will be an old-fashioned Italian dinner with spaghetti, salad, bread and beverages. Cost is $100 per ticket and $1,000 for a table of 10. Contact Smith at [email protected] for dinner tickets, as well as tickets for the raffle of the GSX-R750 ($100 per raffle ticket). The evening will also feature an auction with more than 30 items on the line, including a signed pair of Alpinestars racing gloves donated by American MotoGP rider Nicky Hayden, as well as a ticket-package for the 2007 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, featuring the MotoGP World Championship, at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. For a complete list of available items, please visit ~http://www.3jstrackdays.com/~. The entire day is a benefit for Haskovec, who was injured as a result of an accident at an AMA event at Infineon Raceway in 2005 and is currently receiving care and living in Arizona. Haskovec will be in attendance at both the track day and dinner. Starks, Randolph and Brosius, who are all avid motorcycle riders, have hosted nine 3J’s Motorcycle Days at Infineon Raceway, raising more than $100,000 for qualified youth groups in Sonoma County through Speedway Children’s Charities, the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway. This marks the second fund-raiser for Haskovec “” the first generated $40,000 last year. If you cannot attend the fund-raiser but would like to contribute, make your check payable to the NEXT STEP FOUNDATION and mail c/o Jere Starks at Infineon Raceway (Highways 37 and 121, Sonoma, CA. 95476).
