Nicole Hoffman Readies For Endurance Race During Fall Cycle Scene DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Nicole Hoffman, who serves as manager of interactive marketing at NASCAR will be back at her home track of Daytona International Speedway for next month’s Fall Cycle Scene with experienced-endurance racers Mark Crozier and Nathan Dressman in the inaugural 8 Hours of Daytona MOTO-ST Series race. The MOTO-ST Series will hold the 8 Hours of Daytona on Saturday, Oct. 21 beginning at 1 p.m. with $100,000 in purse and lap money. MOTO-ST will kick off their 2007 inaugural season in March at DIS during Daytona 200 Week By Honda. Hoffman has raced plenty of times on the daunting high banks of the “World Center of Racing.” But for the first time in her career, she’ll compete in an endurance race aboard a Suzuki campaigned by TeamHurtByAccident.com and sponsored by Jostens, Inc. “We’re extremely excited to participate in the inaugural event,” Hoffman said. “We’re looking forward to being a part of what we think will be Daytona history. We’re doing a lot of bike preparations right now and a lot of physical training. “Both of my teammates are seasoned endurance riders but this will be my first endurance race other than doing the Team Challenge back last year. It’ll definitely be a learning experience for me — my teammates will definitely help me along. I’m looking forward to the opportunity.” Hoffman, who resides in nearby Palm Coast, Fla., and works at the NASCAR headquarters in Daytona Beach, has a large following at her office including NASCAR President Mike Helton and ISC Vice Chairman and CEO Jim France. During this year’s Fall Cycle Scene, she expects to have a cheering section. “The MOTO-ST event coincides with Martinsville and the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown that same week but I do expect some of my co-workers to come and support us in this unique event,” said Hoffman, who plans to also compete in a couple of the Championship Cup Series sprint races during the FCS weekend. “I was featured in a NASCAR Illustrated article that generated some calls from around the company. I was able let employees know about the race.” While Hoffman might be a rookie in endurance racing, her teammates are not. Dressman is a top-placing team owner/rider and seven-time regional champion while Crozier was the Overall WERA National Endurance Champion in 2005 and has four National Endurance titles under his belt. Hoffman got a taste of endurance racing assisting her teammates in this year’s WERA National Endurance Series. “The good thing is I have experience crewing for an endurance team,” Hoffman said. “I’ve helped the two riders that I’m racing with. They race in the WERA National Endurance Series. I’ve been lucky enough to work the pit board and see how their operation works. I’m not going in completely blind.” Hoffman hopes one of her driving stints will fall under the bright lights of Daytona. The 8 Hours of Daytona will finish under the lights making it the first nighttime motorcycle race at DIS since the 1985 Paul Revere 250. “It’s a very cool twist. I can’t wait for the lights,” Hoffman said. ” Lucky enough, my two teammates with Arnchu.net Racing just won an eight-hour race in Ohio that went into the night. They are completely experienced in doing that so we have that going for us. “I’m really looking forward to it. It will be an experience we won’t soon forget and I hope both TeamHurtByAccident.com bikes will be on the podium at the end of the night.” Tickets for Fall Cycle Scene are available at www.racetickets.com or by calling 1-800-PITSHOP.
