ADVANCED KAWASAKI RIDERS SCORE TWO TOP TEN FINISHES IN THE TOYOTA 200 AT WILLOW SPRINGS Advanced Kawasaki riders Robbie “Spicy Lamby Chops” Dowie and Stuart “Stuman” Smith scored 4th and 7th place finishes respectively riding their ’06 Kawasaki ZX10Rs in the Toyota 200 at Willow Springs. The all volunteer pit crew for the Advanced Kawasaki riders performed flawlessly, changing both tires and adding a full tank of gas in about 30 seconds while under the pressure of green flag race conditions. The Advanced Kawasaki prepped ZX10Rs also performed flawlessly in the 200 mile race which saw several bikes fail with mechanical difficulties. Having qualified for the race in 9th position, Dowie charged towards the front throughout the race with Smith in tow. The two Advanced Kawasaki riders worked their way up through the field with consistent lap times and two blazing fast pit stops. Late in the race while running 4th and 5th, Smith’s quick fuel splash and go lost him two positions. No stranger to solo endurance racing having locked up the WSMC Solo GTO class championship earlier this year, Robbie found the 200 mile race a bit harder then expected. “I’m really glad Stu and Kevin (Advanced Kawasaki proprietor) dragged me out for some long bicycle rides prior to the race,” stated Robbie. “My fitness this year allowed me to maintain really consistent lap times and my pit crew did an awesome job getting us close to a podium finish,” Robbie said. Stuart was a little rusty coming into the Toyota 200 this year having not raced at Willow Springs since the ’05 Toyota 200, but he was able to use his prior experience on the big track to come up to speed quickly and put in a strong effort to finish 7th. “We really worked hard to get ready for the race this year and I’m so happy with our results” said Stuart. “The guys on the team did a fantastic job and my new bike was awesome.” Advanced Kawasaki would like to congratulate Stuart and Robbie and a job well done and we look forward to seeing their ZX10Rs at the front of the pack out at Willow Springs in the future. We would also like to thank the guys on the pit crew for all their time and effort. More, from a press release issued by Lindemann Engineering: ALMOST PERFECT WEEKEND FOR LINDEMANN ENGINEERING Rich Oliver on his Mystery School Yamaha easily won the Toyota 250/50, even getting into the 22’s during practice. Steve Rapp on the Hypercycle Suzuki was in good position to win the 200, battling back and forth with Jeremy Toye, and leading at his pit stop, when a brake caliper problem put him back on the track some 30+ seconds back. This allowed Toye some breathing room, but Rapp did not give up, finishing only 6 seconds back at the finish. I have to congratulate Jeremy Toye for finally winning, and Attack Kawasaki for winning again. They definitely earned the win. About time for Jeremy!
