Brant Wiwi, Advanced Kawasaki team rider, will be showcased on The SPEED Channel’s Super Bikes show; a special episode on the privateer road racer WILLOW SPRINGS, California – SPEED TV’s hit show, Super Bikes will highlight hometown racer, Brant Wiwi, on next week’s episode airing September 5th at 6:00pm & 9:00pm PST. Recognizing his exceptional racing performances of 2006, SPEED chose Wiwi as the highlighted privateer racer offering intense footage from race days and behind the scenes excitement. After an incredible show of talent and sheer drive, as the episode will prove, Wiwi earned himself an impressive 16 minutes of the twenty three minute program. “SPEED translates the exciting world of high performance motorcycles to television on Super Bikes!, a 30-minute series dedicated to the high revving, tire shredding, wheel standing world of sport bikes, the most exhilarating machines on the planet.” Even after breaking several bones in his hand and his foot, suffering a concussion and a cervical strain one Sunday before, Brant returns to the raceway four days after surgery with no clutch hand for the final day of filming to protect what he can of his local championships. Controversy between WSMC race officials and Wiwi himself stir on the uncertainty that he’d even be able to ride. “This is what Super Bikes! is all about!” This episode honors privateer racers, such as Wiwi, who take on this costly sport without full sponsorship. Brant admits, “If I didn’t have the support that I have, I wouldn’t be doing half as well. I have been lucky to have great support from Advanced Kawasaki, Dunlop, Arata, NJK, GPR, Catalyst Composites, Arai, Track Daz, Ferodo, Motul, Hypercycle, Concept Five and G.P. Suspension.” On his Advanced Kawasaki ZX6RR, Brant proves himself to be the new rider to watch ranking #1 in the 600 Super Stock, 650 Super Bike and 600 Modified classes leading the pack with the highest overall points in the WSMC to date in 2006. Willing to do what most won’t, Brant’s rise to the top seems inevitable. For more information on Super Bikes! visit www.speedtv.com. A special encore presentation of the episode will air at 9:00PM, 12:00AM, and 4:00AM PST; in subsequent weeks, encore presentations will air sporadically.
