Veteran Mike Martire age 36 used his years of racing experience to conquer the young guns that qualified so well for the feature race of the Loudon Classic weekend. Pro rider, Scott Greenwood qualified on pole with 16 year old Shane Narbone taking the second spot on the grid just a tick off Greenwood’s time. Greenwood fell in turn one while leading the race, another incident on the track forced a red flag shortly after Greenwoods crash. Greenwood was not seriously injured. Mike Martire, who had been pushed off turn one in the first start and was last going into turn three, got a much better start the second time and was in fourth spot when the new leader, Steve Giacomaro fell in turn one. As the young riders tired in the 93 degree heat Mike moved into the lead and held it. Mike’s win was a popular one as he has been racing the LRRS series for a long time and is well known for helping anyone who needs it. Mike is a senior instructor for the Loudon based Penguin Racing School. The finishing order was: Mike Martire, age 37 Shane Narbone, age 16 David Hudson age 17
