Misano A Favourite on the World Superbike Calendar The next round of World’s Superbike Championship takes place from 23rd to 25th June at Misano /San Marino. The Santa Monica Circuit is situated only a few kilometres from the beaches of the Adriatic Sea and most times nice and sunny weather is guaranteed. But the track heats very often up to temperatures over 50 0C a great challenge for the riders, mechanics and the bikes. The characteristic for the circuit is perfect for Alex Barros, who did his last test rides here in April 2006. The 4.060 km circuit is fast. The Curvone section with its increasingly fast left corners is followed by an ultra fast back straight. This straight ends at the Tramonto Hairpin a busy lap which demands a great deal of the tyres. Team Manager Klaus Klaffenböck: “I’m rather sure the Misano weekend will be very hot. But we are very well prepared. Alex and the crew have just been out for some testing days at the Eurospeedway Lausitzring. We worked a lot, improved the grip of the rear wheel and much other things. Alex is perfectly acquainted with the Klaffi Honda Fireblade and if he does a good start at Misano he may take a podium again.”
