ZALUSKY THROWS OUT FIRST PITCH IN SALT LAKE CITY

Area media receptive to Miller Motorsports Park’s AMA Superbike event

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (June 16, 2006) — Jessica Zalusky, AMA Supersport and Formula Xtreme road racer, threw out the first pitch Thursday night for the Salt Lake City Bees baseball game at Franklin Covey Field.

The Salt Lake Bees are a Pacific Coast League (PCL) minor league baseball team based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Bees serve as the Class AAA affiliate of Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

“That was a lot of fun,” said Zalusky, who rides for Kawasaki Team Green. “I was so nervous when I got up on the pitchers mound I was shaking. The people with the Bees were really nice. I got pre-game training from one of their pitchers, Greg Jones. The best part was they really did a great job promoting the race at Miller Motorsports Park.”

Zalusky’s opening pitch was part of a large media push put on by Miller Motorsports Park and AMA Pro Racing to promote this weekend’s Honda Summit of Speed that runs June 16-18.

“It was great for the Bees to work with us on helping to promote this event,” said Clark Curtis, director of public relations for Miller Motorsports Park. “The media of the Salt Lake City area have been very receptive to us. There are still a lot of misconceptions about what we’re doing here and we’re hoping this event this weekend will be the start of a strong relationship between the community and the Miller Motorsports Park.”

The track also hosted a media luncheon on Thursday that was well attended by the area’s media. Numerous stories have appeared in local papers and on television and radio. USA Today also mentioned the AMA Superbike Championship coming to the new circuit in its weekend edition.
