Plans to develop a new motorsports complex in Rowan County, North Carolina, halfway between Charlotte and Greensboro, appear to be moving forward, according to local news reports. According to an article appearing on www.salisburypost.com, the Spencer, North Carolina Board of Alderman voted unanimously to hold a public hearing April 11, 2006 on the annexation of a 239-acre plot of land already owned by High Rock Properties, LLC. If the Board of Alderman approves the annexation of the land and if High Rock Properties acquires the necessary funding, grading of the site will begin with an tentative opening of the first phase of the racing complex set for February 2007.
