Vesrah Suzuki racer and team owner Mark Junge will race a GSX-R1000 in the All-Japan Superbike Championship finale October 30 at Twin-Ring Motegi in Japan. “We had plans to do the Suzuka 8 Hours this year,” said Junge, a multi-time WERA National Champion in sprint and endurance racing. “But when my dad (Chris Junge, who was a key member of the Vesrah Suzuki pit crew) died this year the plan fell through. Mr. (Aki) Tamura (President of Vesrah) set aside a budget to do a race in Japan, so we came up with a new plan.” Junge, who tested in the rain at Motegi in 2001, will test again at Motegi this week in preparation for the race. He will be accompanied by his wife Nancy Junge and crew chief Tony Pogue.
