YAMAHA TO CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY DURING RED BULL U.S. GRAND PRIX — Printable Three-Day Event Schedule Available Online — Cypress, Calif., July 5, 2005″”Yamaha Motor Corporation, supporter of the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, has planned a number of public events to celebrate its 50th anniversary with racing fans. Besides providing funding for FIM mandated track changes that allowed the return of the USGP, Yamaha will host a number of fan activities. In addition to the exciting on-track action, Yamaha will showcase its sport and off-road motorcycles, as well as ATVs and Side by Side Vehicles at its display in the Yamaha Marketplace. The Star Motorcycles display will feature the new Roadliner and Stratoliner models, as well as several custom Star cruisers. Historic Yamaha motorcycles and Rossi’s championship winning M1 will also be on display. Near this area, fans will be able to watch televised qualifying and race action on the Yamaha provided Jumbotron. And lucky kids will be able to sign up for test rides on Yamaha’s brand new TTR-50E in a special demo area! Watch for Eddie Lawson, and former GP stars, trade some paint while racing seriously fast shifter karts in the “Superstars of Super Karts” race also sponsored Yamaha and GE. Young and old fans alike will enjoy Yamaha’s Weekend of Champions autograph sessions featuring 19 road race and motocross legends including Wayne Rainey, Giacomo Agostini, Mike Bell and Doug Henry to name just a few. Free posters will be available for autographs. Other special fan events include a free post race Yamaha/HSBC sponsored concert with the band Smash Mouth with special onstage appearances by Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards before the show starts. While away from the track, plan to meet your friends on Cannery Row at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, the “official Yamaha meeting spot” for the USGP.
