Two Aprilia World Champions to Star at Laguna Seca World Champion Supermoto racer Jerome Giraudo and title-winning SXV 4.5 V-Twin set to make personal appearances at Aprilia exhibit Woodstock, GA (June 30, 2005) Aprilia USA and SuperMoto Racer magazine welcome FIM S2 Supermoto World Champion rider Jerome Giraudo and the winning Aprilia SXV 4.5 V-Twin Supermoto racer to Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway for the July 910 Moto GP weekend. Giraudo, who gave Italian manufacturer Aprilia its 26th world title in 2004, will autograph limited-edition posters provided by SuperMoto Racer. Autograph sessions are scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday and will take place in the Aprilia USA exhibit area, located along manufacturers’ row. In addition to this winning combination, motorcycle enthusiasts attending the races will have the opportunity to participate in a consumer survey designed to gauge whether Aprilia’s Supermoto-inspired Pegaso 650 Strada, currently only available in the European market, should join the North American model line. The Aprilia SXV 4.5 Supermoto racer went from concept and development to the victory podium in record time. Aprilia’s innovative V-Twin engine design for the Supermoto category was the first-ever V-Twin application in that segment. With a world championship in the trophy case within the first year of its debut, the cast-aluminum and steel tube frame SXV and its 77-degree, 70 horsepower V-Twin motor have received enormous interest from both industry and consumers. True to its heritage of race-inspired production motorcycles, the all-new Pegaso 650 Strada was specifically designed for the new Street Supermoto segment. This high-torque 660cc single with a surprisingly low seat height has already received accolades from European press and riders. Aprilia USA will be conducting on-site consumer surveys to evaluate the possibility of adding the new Pegaso to the North-American line-up. Those interested in voicing their opinion are invited to visit the Aprilia display. “Whether it’s Moto GP, Superbikes, Supermoto or a track day, at Aprilia we’re enthusiastic about all forms of racing and our newest product line again proves that passion,” said Aprilia USA public relations manager Robert Pandya. “A special thank-you goes to SuperMoto Racer magazine for making the autograph session possible. The mix of Moto GP racing, Superbikes and world champions like Jerome is going to make Laguna Seca the place to be July 9-10.” About Aprilia World Services USA Aprilia World Services USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aprilia S.p.A., a member of the Piaggio portfolio of motorcycle and scooter brands.
