Rod Bush of KTM and John Ulrich of Roadracing World Join AMA Board as Corporate Directors

The American Motorcyclist Association reports that Rod Bush of KTM Sportmotorcycle USA and John Ulrich of Roadracing World Publishing have been elected to represent AMA corporate members on the AMA Board of Directors at the Association’s annual Corporate Member Meeting February 19 in Indianapolis.

Also, Ray Blank of American Honda Motor Company was re-elected to serve as a corporate director. Bush, Ulrich and Blank join Andy Goldfine of Aerostich/Riderwearhouse, Croft Long of Kawasaki Motors Corporation, and Ken Sutton of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company as corporate directors on the board.

At the corporate member meeting, the Association recognized the service of outgoing directors Mel Harris of American Suzuki Motor Corporation, Davey Coombs of Filter Publications LLC, and Jeff Nash of the South Central Region.

The next day, newly elected individual directors Stan Simpson of the South Central Region and Art More of the Southwest Region took their seats in the first scheduled meeting of the new year for the full AMA board, also in Indianapolis. Simpson and More were elected to the board in January. Also in that election, Carl Reynolds was re-elected as the Southeast Region director.

At the February 20 meeting, directors elected officers for the year. J. Richard Gray of the Northeast Region was re-elected as chairman, and Dal Smilie of the Northwest Region was chosen to continue as vice chairman. Jeff Smith of the North Central Region was elected assistant treasurer, and Croft Long was named assistant secretary.

The AMA Board of Directors consists of 12 members. Six individual directors are elected by the general membership in their respective regions and serve three-year terms. Six corporate directors are elected by the corporate membership and serve two-year terms. The AMA Board of Directors meets four times a year.
